Julia Watt has been dabbling in some sort of art and design since she was a little girl, getting her first sewing machine, an awesome chain-stitch style, at the age of five. She started making clothes for her trolls and moved up to Barbie’s and then designing for herself as she got older. After high school, Julia went to nursing school and became an RN and still practices on a limited basis today. But as soon as she had children, she went right back to designing clothing – this time for her little girls. This led to a job designing clothing for a company in Hong Kong which manufactured children’s clothing for the European and Australian market as well as to Motherhood Maternity here in the States. Then, when her little girls needed hairbows in every color, Julia started making those as well and now makes them for several stores across the country under the name “Bow Jesters”. Besides making hairbows in the thousands upon thousands, Julia also designed costumes for local school and church plays, and has also become proficient at smocking, quilting, scrapbooking, photography, sculpting in polymer and just about anything else that struck the artist in her.
In October of 2004, Julia started designing jewelry for the first time and after making some pieces for friends and family, started to get special orders from others as well.

“Designing and creating jewelry has been a highlight of my artistic life.
My jewelry business has blossomed and grown beyond my expectations and I’ve loved just about every minute of the creative process and working with my clients to design a piece for a special occasion that they will treasure forever.
I love the challenge of creating something special to match a “Mother-of-the-Bride” dress or a new Christmas outfit.
I try to make every piece one of a kind with the exception of my popular
Millifiore bracelets which I’ve made over and over
again in a wide range of colors.
My house, my studio, even my car, is stuffed with scraps of
paper bearing ideas for new jewelry pieces.
They’re coming into my mind all the time and I can barely keep up!”

Julia has recently revisited working in polymer clay after discovering all the wonderful things polymer clay artists are creating today. Her jewelry and home décor pieces will be coming to this site in November 2006. Julia also plays piano – her favorite way to recharge her batteries – and plays professionally on occasion. In addition to all the other fun things she fills her life with, Julia has a poster coming out at the end of September 2006, called “Doors of Wheaton” featuring photographs of doors she took over a three year period in Wheaton, Illinois.
Julia has been married to David since 1978 and has two musically talented daughters who outgrew hairbows a long time ago but love getting new jewelry from their mom. She loves going to musicals and the opera, especially when her daughters are performing. Julia drives a cute little sunshine yellow sports car and loves traveling around the world and adores cross-country road trips anytime she can take them.
